Pairing the Beams
Connect each Beam over Bluetooth; the app gives it a colour and a name.
- In the app
Step 1: Open Devices
Go to the Games tab and tap the Bluetooth button at the top right. The little number on it is how many Beams are connected.
- In the app
Step 2: Grant permission
The first time, the app asks for Bluetooth and, on Android, for location. Tap a row to grant it; the square turns green. Then tap Continue.
- In the app
Step 3: Tap a Beam in the list
Switch the Beam on; it appears under Available devices. Tap it; after Connecting... it moves to Connected devices.
The app gives every Beam its own colour and names it accordingly: Beam Red, Beam Green. Repeat for each Beam, up to eight Beams and four Gates per session.
- In the app
Step 4: Not working?
The message Beam failed to connect usually clears when you switch the Beam off and on again. A Beam connects to one phone at a time; if another phone still has it, disconnect it there first.
