When a Plan Comes together... X-Skills proves absolute event value at the 2025 European Hockey Championships

After a successful activation during the EHL final rounds at HC Den Bosch (Easter 2025), several parties came to the door for a collaboration at the European Hockey Championships in Mönchengladbach (August 2025). A difficult luxury problem. Indeed, a number of brands, shops and event organizations wanted X-Skills to be at their “stand” as an activator. Logical, too, because at the EHL, the children queued every day.

Of course, with the X-Skills team, we also focused on 'the place to be' for all hockey enthusiasts this summer. But conversations with the organization taught us that there was no place with enough space to set up multiple challenges, like the ones we had at the EHL.

What do you do then? Then you make necessity a virtue.

Many predicted that we would never be able to activate at the European Championships together with competing brands. Uh... 'that's a trigger. '

With barely 1.5 months preparation, calling, emailing, texting, measuring and building, we went for it! And lo and behold...

For 10 days, we were at 4 different locations on the European Championships with a challenge, with 4 competitors. And what a party it was. Many children and even adults ran continuously across the event grounds to break new records during our X-Skills Challenge tour. At the end of each day, the various stands announced winners of the day, and during the final days, the day's records were shown on the big screen in the stadium.

More than 1000 participants did 10,000 challenges during this European Championships!

Afterwards, the organization of the European Championships was delighted with the value that X-Skills added to the event, especially for children (and therefore also for their parents). This is the start of a long-term partnership with Eurohockey.
